| A guarantor for long-lived quality is the
slowly grown Nordic spruce, which
possesses a very vigorous grain as well
as a very fine-pore structure. Polar
spruce is mainly recognised by its
fragrant odour, which gives the sauna
its typical character… |
As an alternative to the polar spruce,
the Hemlock fir is available. This
coniferous wood grown on the west
coast of Canada is characterised by its
very low resin content. It is extremely
durable. Thanks to its surface structure
with, partly, various mineral inclusions,
the sauna is provided with especially
attractive visual effects. |
To ensure a pleasant sitting feeling in
the sauna, special softwood properties
are required: freedom of splinters
and knots as well as low thermal
conductivity. At saunalux, high-quality
softwood is used exclusively for the
production of the sitting benches. |
As the only deciduous wood among
the sauna wood being used today,
Aspen impresses not only by its visual
advantages, its pure and bright
charm, but also by its stability and
deformation resistance. Aspen is a
noble, "warm" and high-quality deciduous
wood – just as if it were made for
the construction of saunas! |
